This structure is “constructed from 3866 cubes of varying opacity, and serves as a physical manifestation of the intangible: digital information floating above the green landscape.” Click here for first picture in gallery. When is a SEGA Dreamcast not just a SEGA Dreamcast? When it’s converted into a fully-functional, portable tablet system. Best of all, it “also boasts external A/V connections, so you can always hook it up to a TV should you be so inclined.” Video after the break. Here’s a first: a ping pong table that doubles as a dining table when not in use. It “features a ‘DuPont Corian surface interjected with Ping-pong iconography filled with gold lacquer, supported by stately hand-lathed timber legs.” Continue reading for one more picture. That’s right, artist Patrick Acton has painstakingly recreated “Minas Tirith, the City of Kings from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy,” using just matchsticks. He hopes to finish the build by 2010. Click here for first picture in gallery. Honda researchers have partnered with ATR and Shimadzu Corporation to achieve “robotic thought control using a sensor cap to measure electrical potential on the scalp and cerebral blood flow.” Continue reading for a video demonstration. Honda claims its technology achieves the world’s highest accuracy at 90% without special training. Impressive, even though it’s clearly R&D work for now. [via Engadget ]

Currently at $2,000 on eBay , this jet gyroplane prototype “is all aluminum, built on a 2in square tube bolt together frame — fitted with two G8-130 R pressure jet engines that run on liquid propane.” Auction page . Click here for first picture in gallery. It is 16ft long and 10ft 5in wide and weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 720lbs. It has been given the “hang test” and is very well balanced.
